Discover Alone

I started Discover Alone because I kept hearing people say they did not know what was around them. It is a free map for going somewhere you did not know was there. It now shows more than a million places, people and events across Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales. Search a town, use your location, choose a distance and filter for castles, beaches, playgrounds, gardens and more. Open a place for its pictures and story, with links to original records where available; locals can add a story or a missing place. Explorer Tom is the companion. He gets carried away by odd little places, cracks a daft joke and gives useful tips as you explore. You can mark places Want to Do or Done. No account is needed to look around. I began with Donegal; before I knew it there were thousands of places, so I kept going.
