Forked Lives

Forked Lives is a free text-based browser life simulator in public beta. Grow through childhood, education, work and relationships, then revisit saved turning points to explore a different branch. Friends can share starting conditions, play separately and compare outcomes asynchronously. No required player account or download; phone and desktop browser controls. 15 interface languages, with some detailed text falling back to English, and 172 simulated birthplace regions. Recommended ages 15+: fictional illness, loss, conflict and simulated gambling without real-money wagering. AI-assisted development and some AI-generated illustrations; systems are simplified fiction. Built with React and TypeScript, with OpenAI Codex assisting development and human direction and iteration.
