Slacify – Get Google Forms Responses in Slack
Slacify is a Google Forms add-on that sends a Slack message every time someone submits your form. Messages are customizable, there's no code to write, and no Zapier subscription is needed.
What problem it solves
Teams use Google Forms for leads, support requests, job applications, event sign-ups and feedback, but nobody watches the responses sheet. Connecting Forms to Slack usually means paying for Zapier or Make, or writing Apps Script yourself. Slacify does it in about two minutes, right inside Google Forms.
How it works
1. Install the add-on and open any form.
2. Paste a Slack incoming-webhook URL.
3. Write your message using variables like {{Name}}, {{Email}} or {{All Answers}}.
4. Every new submission posts straight to your Slack channel.
Key features
• Message templates with variables: use any question title, plus form name, timestamp, respondent email, response ID and response link.
• Smart formatting: checkboxes, grids and file uploads (as Drive links) are formatted automatically.
• Multiple rules per form: send different messages to different channels.
• Live preview and test message before you go live.
• Custom JSON payloads (paid plans) to send responses to any webhook, not just Slack.
• Privacy by design: the add-on posts directly from Google to Slack, so form responses never pass through Slacify's servers. Stored webhook URLs are encrypted (AES-GCM).
How I built it
The add-on is built on Google Apps Script with a sidebar inside the Forms editor and a submit trigger that renders and sends each message itself. A Next.js backend handles plans, usage limits and billing. It verifies the user's Google OAuth token instead of storing passwords. The project has a full end-to-end test suite that runs the real add-on code against the live API, from form submission all the way to the Slack message.
