GlyphSift: A browser-local studio to style text and inspect the Unicode underneath

I’ve always loved using "fancy font" generators, but I hated two things about them: They often log your text to a remote server. They are "black boxes." When you paste their output, you have no idea if it will break a screen reader, fail to render in a database, or look like garbage on a specific device. The Solution: I built GlyphSift to fix this. It’s a browser-local text studio for people who want to style text but care about what's actually happening under the hood. What it does: Purely Local: No backend, no API, no URL tracking. Your text stays in your browser. Unicode Transparency: It doesn’t just convert text; it inspects it. You can see byte size, grapheme clusters, and exact character maps. "Safe" Styling: It warns you when a conversion is lossy (e.g., if you try to "bold" a character that doesn't have a Unicode equivalent). Clean & Normalize: It’s a great utility for cleaning up weirdly formatted text from clipboard dumps. I built this because I wanted a tool that respects the underlying structure of text while letting me experiment with styles. Would love to hear what you think, especially on the "Inspect" feature.GlyphSift: A browser-local studio to style text and inspect the Unicode underneath screenshot
