Scroll+: EPUB and PDF reader for Android
Reading a PDF on a phone usually means pinching and side-scrolling through pages made for A4 paper. Scroll+ is an Android e-book reader for your own EPUB and PDF files, built for reading on a small screen.
PDFs with a text layer can become flowing text that fits your phone. With a monthly or yearly membership, the server rebuilds complex PDFs with headings, paragraphs and footnotes. Local EPUB and PDF files stay on your device; a PDF is uploaded only if you choose server processing.
Your library sorts books into reading, up next and finished, and everything works offline. Reading settings cover fonts, text size, colors, warm tones and an E-Ink style look. Select a passage and turn it into a quote card you can save or share.
To help the habit stick, reading time earns Nova points. Each minute of a session is worth a little more than the one before, and streaks multiply it. Your companion Loomy grows through 21 avatars as your total Nova goes up, and a weekly leaderboard resets every Monday. There are also optional book chat rooms and a short 1v1 Word Duel game.
Scroll+ is free to download with ads. A one-time purchase removes ads, and the memberships add server PDF processing. It runs on Android 7.0 and later and is available in 15 languages. There is no iPhone or iPad version yet.
I'm looking for readers who read PDFs or EPUBs on their phone and will tell me where the reading view gets in the way.
