PodClip AI was built out of frustration with the current state of creator tools. As an independent developer and content creator, I needed to extract a few 30-second highlights from a 1-hour interview. I realized the market was dominated by expensive subscription-based AI clippers that often generated clips with cut-off sentences and missing context. I didn't want to pay a $30 monthly fee for a tool I might only use twice a month. So, I decided to build the exact tool I wished existed: an AI clipper that uses top-tier LLMs for perfect narrative understanding, combined with a fair, pay-as-you-go pricing model. I wanted to give creators their time back without holding their wallets hostage. PodClip AI is built on a highly scalable and modern tech stack: - Frontend: Next.js, React, and Tailwind CSS for a sleek, responsive UI. - Backend & Auth: Supabase for secure authentication and database management. - AI Engine: Google Gemini AI model for emotional analysis, viral scoring, and narrative structuring. - Video Processing: OpenCV for intelligent auto-face tracking and FFmpeg (running on serverless Google Cloud Run instances) for dynamic 9:16 cropping and ASS subtitle rendering. - Payments: Paddle, handling secure global transactions as our Merchant of Record.
