When we post online as a business or as a consumer, we do not check the photos/Videos/Documents that we post to make sure that we are not accidentally leaking sensitive data. Unfortunately, 84% of all photos and videos posted online do actually contain some version of sensitive data, creating a massive security risk that will compound in the age of AI. Scanon AI is a privacy protection software that detects and removes personal data from photos and videos before they go public. The program works by using computer vision to scan photos and videos uploaded by users for PII such as faces, license plates, tattoos, and invisible metadata attached to the media. Scanon then alerts the user to any sensitive data that it found and gives them the option to remove or hide them before they post the photo or video online, where it is public and permanent.
