Find A Lawyer

Find A Lawyer — New Zealand's lawyer directory Built this because finding a lawyer in NZ is genuinely painful — the Law Society has the data but makes it nearly impossible to navigate. The site aggregates and normalises that data, enriches it with practice area categorisation and verified contact details, and presents it as a searchable directory. Enquiry form on every profile routes directly to the firm. The interesting problem was the data pipeline: ingesting and normalising lawyer records from multiple sources with no manual intervention, keeping thousands of profiles accurate, and handling edge cases like mid-career practice area changes or suspended licences. The site is statically generated — every one of the 9,500+ lawyer profiles is its own indexable page with structured data, which required creative incremental build and caching strategies to keep build times sane at that scale. Currently processing close to 100 enquiries a month. Just added Legal Aid provider matching, which opens up a segment of the market that couldn't previously afford representation.Find A Lawyer screenshot
