2026 FIFA World Cup Simulator
What the project is about & What problem it solves:
The 2026 FIFA World Cup Simulator is an interactive web tool built for football fans, sports analysts, and tournament predictors. With the upcoming World Cup expanding to 48 teams and introducing a brand new format, predicting group stages and knockout brackets manually has become incredibly complex. This project solves that by offering a visual, dynamic bracket generator. Users can simulate match outcomes, auto-calculate group standings (including the tricky "best third-placed teams" logic), and easily share their ultimate tournament predictions.
How I made it:
I focused on building a highly responsive and intuitive UI. The biggest challenge was engineering the complex logic for the new 48-team format and the Round of 32 transitions. I optimized the state management so users can tweak individual match scores and instantly see the downstream effects on the knockout stages without any page reloads.
