SkipBait is an AI YouTube summarizer Chrome extension. I built it because I kept opening YouTube to learn, losing an hour half-watching a long podcast, and remembering nothing a day later. Existing summarizers didn't fix it — they dumped a wall of text, or their AI chat would refuse to answer because "the transcript doesn't cover that." So SkipBait gives every video an honest title + a one-sentence TL;DR to resolve curiosity fast, a timestamped breakdown, and most importantly an AI chat that searches the web when the transcript falls short. It won't make you smarter on its own — but it gets you the gist so you can decide what's worth engaging with. Stack Built with Plasmo, React, and TS.
