BizIndexer

BizIndexer is a business discovery and directory platform designed to make it easier for people to find businesses, services, and companies through organized categories, locations, and structured business profiles. It also gives businesses a simple way to establish an additional online presence by submitting their company and presenting useful information such as their services, website, contact details, descriptions, and location. I built BizIndexer with a focus on keeping business discovery clean and straightforward rather than creating an overcrowded directory. The platform includes searchable listings, a detailed category and subcategory structure, business submission and review workflows, individual listing pages, tags, locations, and tools for managing and publishing submissions. The application is primarily built with PHP and Symfony, with Twig for server-side rendering. The frontend uses Bootstrap 5, custom CSS, JavaScript, Symfony UX Stimulus, and Hotwired Turbo, along with components such as Select2 and Tagify for richer form interactions. Symfony components such as Messenger and Mailer are also used for background processing and email-related workflows. The overall goal of BizIndexer is to create a useful, scalable business index that benefits both visitors looking for companies and businesses looking for another credible place to be discovered online.
