Latest updates
Been a while since I posted anything here, mainly because I took a short vacation. I've been working non-stop for the past couple of months so really needed the time off. Warmed up a little bit starting yesterday with some bug fixes. #Stym
While testing today I found a pain-in-the-ass bug 😄 After 3 hours still couldn't fix it so gonna come back to it tomorrow. Couple of other small bug fixes as well.#Stym
One week cooldown starts today. I've been using Linear for project management and the first cycle ended on friday. This week I won't be implementing features. Instead I'll be working on lighter tasks like bug fixes, code cleanup and helping out my co-founder with marketing stuff.#Stym
More testing and bug fixes today along with some adjustments to the flow of a new user#Stym
Minor setback: Production access to SES was denied by AWS. So I had to rewrite all the email code. Signed up for Mailgun, replaced all SES code with the Mailgun API and set up the required templates.#Stym
Worked on setting up transactional emails with AWS SES and added a few templates for that today. SES also requires you to handle bounces and spam reports to maintain sending reputation so had to build webhooks to handle that as well.#Stym
Mainly fixing bugs today in the dashboard and profile management widget. And some infrastructure updates on AWS.#Stym
Worked on the website landing page today. There's still some work left, like updating the images and icons, hooking up the form to mailchimp etc.#Stym
Made some UX updates today. Added a couple of nudges and warnings so users can finish a some important steps before diving into the application. Fixed a couple of issues with deployments as well.#Stym
Subdomains are done!! 😁 😁 Every user can choose a subdomain when they signup under which all of their products' authentication and checkout pages will be available. #Stym
Most of today was working on deploying the microservices on AWS. There were some issues to figure out (since it's been a while since I used AWS) but they're all finally fixed. There's some more work left for today, mainly user subdomains! #Stym
Worked on a few bug fixes today and did some testing! #Stym
Worked on showing product stats and customers list today. This marks the last major feature before launch. Couple more small ones and I can start end-to-end testing!! 🤩 🤩#Stym
Some more updates for the profile management widget: Pulling data from Stripe and rendering active subscription, billing cycle and invoices.#Stym
Finished working on generating and sending (via email) a unique download link, every time there's a successful payment. Links are valid for 30 days and goes to a download page. #Stym
Worked on the profile management widget today. All we have to do is copy-paste a script into any website. Users can change profile settings, manage subscription & billing and access the products they bought. The widget also manages sessions and restricts access to gated pages.#Stym
Checked off a bunch of pending tasks last night. Late by a couple of days as I was stuck on a couple of issues and wanted to implement a scalable way instead of hacking together something that worked. Overall satisfied with the progress. Some more tasks to finish today. #Stym
Spent the better part of the day fighting with the Stripe API but most of the hard part is figured out and coded. There's still some changes left but it'll be an easier day tomorrow because of the work done today.#Stym
I love seeing a bunch of tick marks next to tasks at the end of day.#Stym
