Email hosting on a domain you own, $9 a year for unlimited mailboxes and unlimited domains, 10 GB pooled storage. It started with a $420 Google Workspace bill for five people, two of whom barely used email. Per-seat pricing bills you for a human, but a mail server only costs storage and bandwidth. So this charges for the storage and gives the headcount away. One plan, no tiers, no free plan. Stack: Stalwart for the mail server (IMAP, POP3, SMTP, JMAP), Snappymail for webmail, Postgres for account state, a Nuxt 3 panel on Cloudflare Workers with Hyperdrive in front of Postgres, Backblaze B2 for message bodies, Creem as merchant of record. Mail nodes are ordinary dedicated hardware, not hyperscaler compute, which is the whole reason $9 works at ~75% margin. Three weeks old. 12 people paying, 44 domains, 61 mailboxes. Deliberately does not do bulk sending, and never will.
